DESA wanted to reinvent the commodity patio heater category. “Mushroom heaters” were the norm and price competition fierce. DESA came to Venture2 for turnkey support in developing a line of transformational products for backyard heating comfort.
Venture2 conducted observational research for new insights. Consumers wanted heat delivered at body level and in new ways. We developed and validated new design concepts and managed initial product development. The final products, including a heated patio table and heated torch light, were launched in record time and received “Best New Products” at the annual Patio Show. More importantly, the product line doubled category sales and successfully
repositioned the brand.
